Hi guys,

there's now been three of us training rapier every Wednesday in the free training for an hour (19:30-20:30 or so) and the idea was brought up that I might want to post about it so that others interested could join. So here it is: come do the fun stuff! Any experience levels welcome.

Just to give you an idea of ours, we are re-beginners who currently do basic level stuff from the syllabus. So far we have been mostly trying to recover our parry-riposte and to remember to recover after a lunge, with exercises both from the syllabus and designed for us by Mr Windsor. Last time we also had a total rapier newbie join us, starting from practicing the extend in seconda / quarta and basic lunge. So not very scaringly advanced at all! We discussed trying to remember scannatura next time, maybe, but we deserve the right to change our minds.

Hi!

At least during Mr. Windsor's holiday we will be running rapier classes on Wednesdays from 18.00 to 19.30. Let's see how popular it gets!

Yours,
Ilkka
You are awesome.

The free training invitation still stands, means we'll get 2.5 hours total.

We did the scannatura and scansi yesterday, and word when we left the salle was to go through the parry-riposte compound drill (again) next time, but that depends on the class contents too of course, I suppose.
Um, I have to retract Ilkka's promise as nobody rapiresque enough is available to lead the normal class on this week's wednesday. I guess it's just down to the good old longsword. Lots of relaxing cutting practice and moving about with the sword in hand. I'll probably join you with the rapier training hour, though.
