Just for fun
Sword practice
Looking beyond the humour potential, it's quite clear that this guy has actually practiced quite a bit. While many of the 'techniques' are silly, and cribbed from martial arts movies, anime or XMA videos, he manages to dual-wield without hitting himself or tangling himself up. If he got proper instruction and training he might actually become a decent martial artist at some point.... He fights as you sing prick-song, keeps time, distance, and proportion; rests me his minim rest, one, two, and the third in your bosom: the very butcher of a silk button, a duellist, a duellist; a gentleman of the very first house, of the first and second cause: ah, the immortal passado! the punto reverso! |

RE: Just for fun
Video games replacing natural born violence with choreography, bless them.
I wonder if this dude got his moves from him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lueuQu62nRQ I'm just being too negative towards the whole subject, I reckon. Even this looks a bit too "anime inspired" to my eyes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcJUvkhw8WU Mind you, my eyes don't probably have anything to do with reality. RE: Just for fun
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I found a video about some of the better known teachers of western martial arts. Looks like historical fencing is a great way to keep in shape. Look at their muscle tone! I am envious. Included is someone we all know quite well

I think I need someone to help me gouge my eyes out just about now....

RE: Just for fun
Continuing with the theme, have you ever wondered about the fundamental differences between Finns and the Scandinavians? Here's one possible view on the subject:
Danes - kind of cool if you'd only understood what they are saying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGs0CxxYPIo Norwegians - no wonder why they've been driven beyond the mountains: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_HrQer6LPI Finns - to the point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLzzeCQRikM Man yt wol to ye to hond swerd lern bothe close & clere He most haue a goode eye both fer & nere |
