Fiore describes seven blows of the sword. They are divided into six cuts and the thrust.

The six cuts are either forehand (mandritto) or backhand (roverso), and either downwards (fendente), across (mezano, middle), or rising (sottano).

The thrust is illustrated straight up the middle from below, but he also states that they can come from above or below, and from forehand or backhand, so there are in total five types of thrust.
