The drill can finish in three ways: the MS gives us at least three counters to the overbind. They are the mutacio gladii, durchtret, and a right-arm wrap. you can see these here:

The treatise begins with the seven wards, and then this sequence, of first ward beset by halpshilt. We have taken things slightly out of order, in that the strike from halpshilt comes later in the treatise, to cover the possibility that the one in first ward "omits his actions".

The standard, basic finish is with durchtret, as shown here:
