Disengage, Counterdisengage, Redisengage

The three fundamental disengages are:

  • the disengage, where you go from one side of your opponent's sword to the other. Cavazione in Italian.
  • the counterdisengage, where as your opponent disengages, you also disengage, ending up where you started. Contracavazione.
  • and the redisengage, where as your opponent counterdisengages, you disengage again. Ricavazione.
